Caltech Educational Outreach (CEO) programs translate and transfer the essence of the Institute's research for the purpose of increasing public understanding and appreciation of science and engineering principles.

Reflecting the Caltech tradition of doing a few things very well, CEO supports faculty who choose to implement a limited number of high-impact, transportable programs that primarily address the needs of our own students and scholars, and expose local and regional middle and high school students, teachers, and parents to cutting-edge science and technology. These programs inform, inspire, and motivate specific audiences through both informal and formal education tools and mechanisms in alignment with state and national science education standards.

Each funded program meets the highest educational outreach standards and includes a working plan for measuring success, using proven tools and instruments for assessment and evaluation of outcomes.
